Cheektowaga, NY (September 13, 2025) – A 20-year-old motorcyclist was killed Friday evening, 12th September,2025, after a crash on William Street in Cheektowaga that caused the motorcycle to become fully engulfed in flames, which also spread to one of the other vehicles involved.
Emergency responders from the Cheektowaga Police and Fire Departments arrived at the scene around 8:45 p.m. and extinguished the fire. The deceased motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the name of the victim.
The drivers of the other two vehicles involved were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
William Street was closed in both directions from Vern Lane to Helen Street near Exit 52A of the New York State Thruway while crews cleared the scene and conducted the investigation. Crime tape was placed around the area to secure the site.
Cheektowaga Police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the collision. No additional details regarding contributing factors, such as speed or alcohol, have been released.
