Cicero, NY (November 13, 2025) – A 67-year-old man was killed Thursday evening after his van overturned along Interstate 481 near Exit 10, according to New York State Police.
Troopers responded around 5:22 p.m., 13th Nov, 2025, to reports of a crash on the southbound side of I-481.
Investigators say the man was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Express van and attempted to take the Bear Road off-ramp when his vehicle left the east shoulder, overturned, and came to rest on its passenger side.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No additional vehicles were involved.
State Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the crash.
Single-Vehicle Crashes and Potential Contributing Factors
When a fatal crash involves only one vehicle, investigators examine a range of factors, including road design, mechanical failure, medical emergencies, and environmental conditions. In New York, families often seek independent evaluations to determine whether issues such as roadway maintenance, vehicle defects, or obstructed signage may have contributed.
A New York wrongful death attorney can help secure crash reports, reconstruction findings, and expert reviews to clarify what happened and whether any third-party liability may exist.
