9-Year-Old Hospitalized After Hit-and-Run

Rochester, NY (October 11, 2025) – Emergency responders were called Friday night to the 400 block of Lake Avenue in Rochester after a 9-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run. The incident occurred just before 8:00 p.m. 10th October, 2025.

According to Rochester Police, the child was with his mother and others when a vehicle backed up and struck him, then fled the scene. Police quickly located the suspect and vehicle a short distance away on Murray Street. The driver, a 34-year-old Rochester man, was taken into custody and issued citations.

The boy was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
