Lower Paxton Township, PA (December 30, 2025) – A tragic head-on collision in Lower Paxton Township during the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 30, 2025, has claimed the lives of two Harrisburg residents. The crash occurred around 1:00 a.m. in the 1100 block of Colonial Road. According to the Lower Paxton Township Bureau of Police, the collision involved two vehicles, one of which was engulfed in flames upon the arrival of first responders.
Police identified the driver of the burning vehicle as 30-year-old Anil Gajmer. Despite the efforts of officers who worked under dangerous conditions to extract him from the fire, Gajmer did not survive his injuries. The second vehicle was operated by 25-year-old Mahogheni Mills, who was also pronounced dead at the scene. A male passenger in Mills’ vehicle was rescued and transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash; his current condition has not been disclosed.
Colonial Road was closed for approximately four hours as emergency crews extinguished the blaze and investigators processed the scene. The roadway reopened at roughly 5:00 a.m. The Lower Paxton Township police stated that the investigation remains active as they work to determine the factors that led to the vehicles striking one another head-on.
Liability and Wrongful Death Considerations in Fiery Head-On Crashes
Head-on collisions, especially those occurring in the early morning hours, often involve complex liability determinations centered on lane deviations and right-of-way. In Pennsylvania, when a driver crosses the center line and causes a fatal impact, their estate may be held liable for the resulting damages. For the families of the deceased, the presence of a vehicle fire adds a layer of intensity to the investigation, as authorities must determine if a mechanical failure contributed to the blaze or if the fire was solely a result of the high-speed impact.
