Geddes, NY (August 21, 2025) – A 21-year-old man from Baldwinsville, NY, was killed Friday afternoon in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 690 Eastbound in the town of Geddes. The New York State Police responded to the scene at approximately 5:57 p.m.
Preliminary investigations revealed that both vehicles were traveling eastbound when a 2011 Ford F-250 pickup truck changed lanes from the driving lane to the passing lane. A 2006 Suzuki motorcycle then struck the rear of the pickup truck. The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 36-year-old man from Syracuse, NY, was not injured. He was evaluated at the scene by a State Police Drug Recognition Expert and showed no signs of impairment. No tickets were issued to the driver.
The State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is assisting with the investigation, which remains ongoing. Interstate 690 eastbound was closed for several hours while troopers processed the scene.
