Rochester, NY (October 20, 2025) – A man was critically injured Sunday night after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle on Scio Street in Rochester, according to the Rochester Police Department (RPD).

Officers responded to the intersection of Scio Street and Woodward Street around 7:20 p.m. after receiving reports of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found a man in the roadway with serious upper-body injuries.

The victim was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he remains in critical condition, police said.

Investigators determined that the bicyclist was riding northbound in the middle of Scio Street when he attempted to move onto the sidewalk and was struck by a southbound vehicle. Police confirmed that the driver was not impaired, and no citations have been issued at this time.
