Canandaigua, NY (August 27, 2025) – A box truck driver was killed Wednesday in a crash at the intersection of State Route 5 & 20 and Hickox Road in Canandaigua. The incident occurred when the box truck collided with an SUV, causing the truck to veer off the road and strike a traffic light pole.

The driver of the truck, who was pinned against the pole, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two occupants of the SUV were not seriously injured, though one individual was taken to the hospital with shoulder pain.

Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione confirmed that the crash remains under investigation, and further details have not yet been released.
