Worker dies after falling at construction site

Hudson Yards, Manhattan (October 24, 2025) – A construction worker tragically died after falling 50 feet into a hole at a construction site in Hudson Yards on Thursday morning. According to police, the incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. on 23rd October, 2025, at 605 W. 30th Street, where the worker was employed by New York Concrete Corporation on the Gateway Tunnel project.

Authorities reported that the worker, identified as a male, was on the ground floor when he fell into the underground hole. Emergency rescue crews responded quickly and the worker was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after the fall.

The NYPD and OSHA have begun their investigation into the tragic incident, and authorities are working to determine the cause of the accident.
