New Hartford, NY (October 22, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Higby Road and Mohawk Street caused one vehicle to overturn and temporarily disrupt traffic Monday evening, according to the New Hartford Police Department (NHPD).
Authorities say the crash occurred around 5:00 p.m. on October 20th, 2025, when a pickup truck driven by Douglas Yasenovsky of New Hartford struck an SUV driven by Roberts. The impact caused the SUV to roll over onto a nearby lawn on Higby Road.
Police determined that Yasenovsky was following too closely, which led to the collision. He was issued citations for following too closely and unlicensed operation, according to officials.
Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported in the crash. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage, and the roadway was cleared shortly after the incident. The crash remains under investigation by New Hartford Police.
