Adams County, PA (September 23, 2025) – A fatal crash occurred early Sunday morning on US Route 15 in Tyrone Township, resulting in the death of the driver of a Volkswagen Jetta.
State Police in Gettysburg responded to the scene around 5:30 a.m., 21st September, 2025, after the Jetta, traveling northbound, veered off the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a guiderail in the median. The disabled vehicle remained in the middle of the road, creating a hazard.
A short time later, a northbound pickup truck was unable to stop in time and struck the rear of the Jetta, causing it to travel down an embankment. Simultaneously, a tractor-trailer traveling in the left lane also failed to stop and struck the Jetta. The tractor-trailer crossed into the median, went down an embankment, and continued into the southbound lanes.
The driver of the Jetta was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup truck driver sustained minor injuries, while the truck driver was unharmed.
The incident remains under investigation, and authorities have not released further details regarding the cause of the crash.
