New Hampshire, NY (August 31, 2025) – Former New York City Mayor, Rudy Giuliani, 81, was hospitalized Sunday after a car accident in New Hampshire. Giuliani was traveling on a highway when his car was struck from behind at high speed, according to his spokesperson, Michael Ragusa.
The crash caused Giuliani to suffer a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations, contusions, and injuries to his left arm and lower leg. Giuliani was transported to a nearby trauma center, where he remains under medical care.
Despite his injuries, Giuliani is in “good spirits” and recovering well, according to Ragusa. Giuliani’s medical team is pleased with his progress, and he remains fully alert and conscious. Giuliani has expressed a desire to return to work in a few days.
Before the crash, Giuliani had been involved in assisting a woman in a domestic violence incident. He contacted 911 and stayed with her until law enforcement arrived.
New Hampshire State Police reported that both vehicles involved in the crash were heavily damaged and that emergency responders were already on the scene of the earlier domestic violence incident. Three individuals, including Giuliani, were taken to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
