Syracuse, NY – Four-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down I-690 West

Syracuse, NY (August 26, 2025) – A four-vehicle crash Tuesday evening shut down all westbound lanes of Interstate 690 in Syracuse, leading to significant traffic delays. The incident occurred around 5:34 p.m. just past Exit 15 (Midler Avenue).

Police closed all westbound lanes for approximately 30 minutes, reopening the left lane around 6:25 p.m. As a result of the crash, traffic came to a standstill for more than 30 minutes, with delays stretching back to the Thompson Road exit.

By 7:15 p.m., all lanes on I-690 west had been reopened, and traffic began to return to normal. Authorities have not released additional details about the crash or any injuries involved.
