Troy man dies in Colonie crash

Colonie, NY (October 29, 2025) – A Troy man has died after being struck by a vehicle in Colonie on Wednesday evening, according to local police.

Authorities identified the victim as Gregory Browne, 59, who was hit near 622 Watervliet Shaker Road around 7:59 p.m. on 29th October, 2025. Responding emergency crews pronounced Browne dead at the scene, police said.

The Colonie Police Department confirmed that the driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with investigators. Preliminary findings indicate that the driver was not impaired, and police do not anticipate criminal charges at this time.
