Carbondale Township, PA (September 4, 2025) – A 35-year-old man, Michael T. Propes from Carbondale, tragically died following a fatal rollover crash on the Casey Highway on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred at 5:30 p.m., near the Meredith Street exit ramp in Carbondale Township.
Michael T. Propes was ejected from his vehicle during the crash and later succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported to Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. Lackawanna County Coroner Tim Rowland confirmed the fatality, and Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
Officials confirmed that the man was traveling with his white Pitbull puppy named Storm, who is currently missing. The dog was last seen near the embankment close to the Meredith Street off-ramp, and efforts are ongoing to locate it.
