Legal Implications of Fatal Accidents on New York Parkways
A fatal car crash on a major New York thoroughfare, like the Southern State Parkway, immediately triggers a Wrongful Death claim under New York law. For the victim’s family to recover compensation, an attorney must establish that the death was caused by the negligence of another party, which could be the driver of another vehicle, the victim’s own driver, or even a municipality if poor road conditions were a contributing factor.
