Gates, NY (September 24, 2025) – A serious two-vehicle crash occurred on Wednesday afternoon on Long Pond Road near Gates Greece Townline Road in Gates, leaving one person critically injured.
According to the Gates Police Department, a driver traveling shortly before 3 p.m. veered into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with another vehicle. The force of the crash caused significant damage to both cars.
The seriously injured driver was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for urgent medical care. No additional injuries have been reported at this time. Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision, and it is currently unclear whether drugs or alcohol were factors.
