Blakely, PA (September 22, 2025) – A 79-year-old man, Raymond Bacchiocchi of Peckville, was killed Saturday morning, 20th September, 2025 in a hit-and-run bicycle crash at the intersection of Main and Bridge streets in Blakely.
Police said Bacchiocchi was found unresponsive on the road next to his bicycle around 10:15 a.m. Emergency medical personnel transported him to Geisinger Community Medical Center, where he later died.
Investigators identified the vehicle involved as a blue Cadillac SUV and the driver as 74-year-old Diane Fontana of Archbald. Witnesses reported that Fontana struck Bacchiocchi while making a left turn and initially fled the scene, returning briefly before leaving again without rendering aid.
Fontana was charged with accidents involving death or personal injury, failure to stop and render aid, failure to notify police of an accident involving injury or death, and failure to yield to a pedestrian. She was released on $20,000 unsecured bail. Additional charges may be amended due to the victim’s death.
