Cypress Hills, Brooklyn (September 1, 2025) – Reinaldo Rodriguez and Mirella Vega, both 42, were killed Monday night in a motorcycle crash involving a Mercedes SUV in the Cypress Hills section of Brooklyn.
The crash occurred around 8:10 p.m. on September 1, 2025, when Rodriguez, driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle, collided with the rear of a Mercedes SUV that was turning left onto Elton Street.
Both Rodriguez and his passenger, Mirella Vega, were ejected from the motorcycle. Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene, while Vega was transported to Brookdale University Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes, who remained at the scene, was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and was listed as stable.
Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the collision, with initial reports indicating that the motorcycle was heading west on Atlantic Avenue when it struck the SUV.
