Riverhead, NY (October 9, 2025) – Robert Burgazzoli, 36, of Riverhead, NY, was killed and a passenger seriously injured in a single-car crash on Wednesday morning, 8th October, 2025, on County Road 105 near Flanders Road.

Southampton Town Police said the car was traveling southbound on CR 105 shortly before 8 a.m. when it struck a tree. Burgazzoli was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the passenger.

Flanders-Northampton Volunteer Ambulance and the Flanders Fire Department responded to the scene to provide medical assistance and manage traffic. Southampton Town Police detectives, along with the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Team, are investigating the cause of the crash.

Southbound lanes of CR 105 at Main Road were closed for approximately four hours while emergency personnel cleared the scene.
