Cranberry Twp., PA – School Bus Crash on Plains Church Rd; Students Evaluated

Seneca Valley School District bus involved in crash

Cranberry Township, PA (November 19, 2025) – A Seneca Valley School District bus and another vehicle were involved in a crash on Wednesday afternoon in Butler County, prompting a major emergency response and parental pickup of more than a dozen students.

Butler County dispatchers confirmed that crews were called to Plains Church Road around 3:15 p.m. Sky 4 footage showed the bus and the second vehicle off to the roadside with visible front-end damage to the bus. Four pine trees were also damaged in the collision. The other vehicle involved was later towed from the scene.

Police and EMS evaluated all students on board. According to a district spokesperson, no injuries were reported, and each child was cleared before leaving with a parent.

The district described the incident as a “minor accident,” though the circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation.

School Bus Collisions in Pennsylvania

Even when no injuries are immediately apparent, school bus crashes raise questions about roadway safety, operator conduct, bus maintenance, and liability. Pennsylvania law allows parents to seek medical evaluations and compensation if delayed injuries appear later, particularly common with soft-tissue injuries or emotional trauma. Investigators typically review driver statements, onboard camera footage, roadway conditions, and mechanical health to determine fault.
