Wantagh, NY (October 11, 2025) – Emergency responders were dispatched Thursday night, 9th October, 2025, to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ewell Place and Old Mill Road in Wantagh.
Authorities reported that a teenage driver lost control of a Land Rover SUV, crashing through a fence on the east side of Old Mill Road and down an embankment into Bellmore Creek in the Twin Lakes Preserve. The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No criminality is suspected.
First Precinct officers and the Wantagh Fire Department responded promptly to the scene. The crash caused temporary disruptions in the area as responders ensured safety and cleared the vehicle. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
