Fairport, NY (September 24, 2025) – A tractor-trailer was struck by an eastbound train on Wednesday evening in Fairport, leaving the truck driver unharmed.
According to Acting Fairport Police Chief Matt Weber, the collision occurred when the tractor-trailer was on the tracks. The driver remained inside the truck at the time and was not injured.
The impact caused damage to at least two railroad crossings and other rail infrastructure. CSX crews, along with the Fairport Police Department and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, are on scene assessing the damage. Roadways near the crash site are expected to remain closed overnight for repairs.
Investigators are reviewing witness statements and video footage to determine the cause of the collision. No injuries have been reported.
