Traffic Agent Injured in Hit-and-Run on 9th Ave

Manhattan, NY (October 30, 2025) – A traffic agent was injured early Thursday morning after a hit-and-run incident on 9th Avenue near West 218th Street in Upper Manhattan, according to NYPD officials.

At approximately 6:30 a.m., a gray Honda sedan allegedly ran over the agent’s foot before colliding with a nearby NYPD patrol vehicle. The Honda, occupied by a female driver and a male passenger, fled the scene heading southbound on 9th Avenue.

Emergency medical personnel treated the traffic agent for a foot injury at the scene. The victim was conscious and alert while being evaluated for further care.

Police have launched an investigation to locate the suspects and the vehicle involved. Surveillance footage and witness statements are being reviewed to assist in identifying those responsible.

Hit-and-Run Accidents in New York City

Victims of hit-and-run crashes face added challenges when the responsible driver flees the scene. Under New York law, injured parties may still recover damages through uninsured motorist coverage or by identifying the at-fault driver through police investigations. Compensation may include medical expenses, lost income, and pain and suffering.

An experienced NY personal injury lawyer can assist victims in working with law enforcement, filing insurance claims, and pursuing justice through civil action.
