Cayuga County, NY – Two Extricated and Hospitalized After Tractor-Trailer Crash

Cayuga County, NY (August 7, 2025) – Two people were extricated and taken to the hospital following a crash involving a tractor-trailer and another vehicle Thursday afternoon. The incident was reported around 3:55 p.m. at Mile Marker 305 eastbound on the New York State Thruway, in the town of Brutus.

Personnel from CIMVAC Ambulance, along with ambulances from Auburn and Jordan and fire departments from Weedsport and Port Byron, worked together to extricate two individuals from one of the vehicles. One person was transported by LifeNet helicopter to a hospital, though the specific facility was not confirmed. The second person was transported by Auburn City Ambulance to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

The New York State Police are investigating the cause of the crash, with support from the Cayuga County Office of Emergency Services at the scene.
