Two Killed in Head-On Collision on Evans City Rd

Butler County, PA (October 19, 2025) – Two people tragically lost their lives in a head-on collision late Saturday morning on Evans City Road (Route 68) in Butler County, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

The crash occurred around 10:44 a.m. on 18th October, 2025, and involved a 2019 Jeep Cherokee traveling westbound and a 2014 Cadillac XTS heading eastbound. Investigators said the Jeep crossed the double yellow line for reasons still under investigation and collided head-on with the Cadillac.

Emergency personnel responded quickly, but both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. No other passengers were reported. Authorities closed Route 68 for nearly four hours while troopers reconstructed the crash and collected evidence.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released pending family notification. Investigators are reviewing whether distraction, impairment, or speed contributed to the fatal accident. The road has since reopened to traffic.
