Johnson City, NY (November 11, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash caused significant traffic delays on Route 201 in Johnson City on Tuesday morning.
The crash occurred around 9:15 a.m. on November 11, 2025, near Riverside Drive, blocking part of the southbound lane and leaving traffic slowed in both directions. Emergency crews responded to assist motorists and clear the roadway.
It is not yet known whether any injuries occurred. The Johnson City Police Department, along with Vestal Police, reported responding to multiple crashes on Route 201 and Route 17 as snowy, icy conditions made travel hazardous throughout Broome County.
Authorities urged drivers to use caution, particularly on bridges and overpasses, which tend to freeze before main roadways.
Winter Weather and Driver Responsibility
Even during adverse weather, drivers are legally required to adjust their speed and maintain control of their vehicles. Under New York negligence law, failing to account for icy or slippery conditions may still result in liability for damages or injuries caused in a collision.
If you were injured in a crash caused by another driver’s failure to drive safely in winter weather, a New York car crash attorney can help you recover compensation for medical costs, lost income, and pain and suffering.
