Pittsburgh, PA – Keturah Griffin-40-Driver of Disabled Sedan Killed in Parkway East Crash

Driver of disabled sedan killed in Parkway East crash

Pittsburgh, PA (November 24, 2025) – 40-year-old Keturah Griffin, a resident of Monroeville, was killed in a fiery crash on the Parkway East early Monday morning during the rush hour.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, Griffin’s sedan had become disabled on the ramp to I-376 in the Oakland area at approximately 5:30 a.m. She had activated her four-way flashers and was waiting for a tow truck, with which she was in communication when the crash occurred.

Witnesses and the investigation revealed that a pickup truck traveling east collided with Griffin’s car while changing lanes from behind another vehicle. The impact caused the sedan to catch fire. Despite efforts from nearby drivers, including the pickup truck driver and two Pittsburgh detectives, to rescue Griffin, the flames were too intense to save her.

Griffin was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup truck driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. No arrests were made at the time, but State Police continue to investigate the crash, which may involve factors like visibility and speed.

I-376 eastbound was temporarily closed while investigators processed the scene. The road has since reopened, and authorities are conducting further inquiries to determine the exact cause of the crash.
