Benjamin Singer (18) Killed in Violent Old Philadelphia Pike Crash

Lancaster County, PA – (December 12, 2025) – An 18-year-old Landisville man, identified as Benjamin Singer, was killed late Friday night following a violent single-vehicle crash on Old Philadelphia Pike (SR 340) in Leacock Township.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) in Lancaster, the crash occurred at 11:42 p.m. on Friday, December 12. Mr. Singer was driving a 2014 Nissan Altima westbound on Old Philadelphia Pike when the vehicle left the right side of the roadway. The car struck two utility poles before coming to rest against a third pole at the intersection of Old Philadelphia Pike and Old Leacock Road.

Troopers reported that the Nissan Altima sustained “extreme damage to all sides.” Benjamin Singer, who was reportedly wearing his shoulder belt, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Pennsylvania State Police are continuing their investigation into the exact cause of the vehicle leaving the roadway.

Understanding Wrongful Death Claims After Fatal Single-Vehicle Crashes

The tragic death of a young driver in a single-vehicle accident initiates a legal pathway for the victim’s family to pursue a Wrongful Death claim under Pennsylvania law. While single-vehicle crashes often suggest driver error as the primary cause, such as distracted driving, drowsy driving, or speeding, a thorough legal investigation is crucial to rule out other contributing factors, which may allow the family to recover compensation.
