Reading, PA – Woman Killed in Pedestrian Motorcycle Collision on Hiesters Lane

Woman Killed in Pedestrian Motorcycle Collision

Reading, PA (April 5, 2026) – A late-night collision involving a motorcycle has claimed the life of a female pedestrian in Reading. The fatal accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Hiesters Lane.

According to the Reading Police Department, emergency personnel were dispatched to Hiesters Lane following reports of a pedestrian struck by a motorcycle.

Upon arrival, responders found a female pedestrian suffering from critical injuries. Tragically, she did not survive and was pronounced deceased. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of her family.

The condition of the motorcyclist and the exact circumstances leading up to the crash remain under active investigation. Authorities are working to piece together the events of the evening, examining factors such as vehicle speed, visibility, and right-of-way.

Fatal Pedestrian and Motorcycle Accident Liability in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania follows Modified Comparative Negligence, meaning an injured party or their surviving family can seek compensation as long as they are 50% or less at fault for the incident. In fatal crashes, a Wrongful Death and Survival Action allows the victim’s family to pursue damages for funeral expenses, medical bills incurred prior to death, and loss of companionship and future earnings.

Because accidents involving both pedestrians and motorcycles often result in complex liability and severe outcomes, a prompt investigation is essential to preserve evidence such as roadway skid marks, witness statements, and nearby surveillance footage. Working with an experienced Pennsylvania motorcycle accident lawyer can help victims and their families navigate the legal process and identify all available sources of insurance coverage before the two-year statute of limitations expires.

We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss of life and offer our sincere condolences to the victim’s family.
