Ulster, PA – Car and Tractor-Trailer Crash After Hitting Fallen Tree on Route 220

Car, tractor trailer involved in accident on 220

Ulster, PA (November 5, 2025) – A collision involving a car and a tractor-trailer shut down Route 220 in Ulster on Wednesday night after both vehicles struck a fallen tree in the roadway, according to the Ulster Sheshequin Fire Association.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene around 8 p.m. and confirmed that no one was injured or trapped in either vehicle. The incident led to the temporary closure of Route 220 for approximately two hours while Pennsylvania State Police conducted an investigation and wrecker crews cleared the cars and debris.

The North Towanda Fire Department also assisted at the scene. Authorities have not released details on what caused the tree to fall, though recent weather conditions and visibility are being considered as possible contributing factors.

Hazards and Liability in Roadway Obstruction Crashes

Collisions involving fallen trees or debris are more common during high winds or heavy rain. While these are often considered “no-fault” incidents, government entities or property owners may sometimes be liable if negligence in maintenance or delayed hazard removal contributed to the crash.

An experienced Pennsylvania multi-vehicle accident attorney can help evaluate potential liability, file claims for vehicle damage, and guide victims through insurance recovery options.
