Getting Ready For Fall and Winter

It’s getting to be called and make sure your furnace is operating properly. And that you have smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and a natural gas or propane detector. These are important safety measures for you and your family as we head into the cold months in Central New York.

Car Safety

You often spend as much time in your car as you do your home! So being safe on the roads this winter is all-important. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, always. So what about those tires on your car? Here’s a true story that happened to me. The weather got cold and my tire pressure gauges were telling me that my tire pressures were all low. No big surprise there, as that’s what happens when it gets colder. So you have to make sure your tire pressure is proper because it does drop off considerably from 80 degrees to 20 degrees. So make sure your tire pressure is correct. Have your brakes checked, ensure you always keep your windshield wiper fluid filled, and update the wipers on your car. Brakes, tires and wipers make for a safer ride there’s no doubt about it.
