“Do I really need to get a lawyer?”

“Do I really need to get a lawyer?”

On one of my Joe Knows radio interviews this morning I was asked this question, and this actually comes up a lot.  “Do I really need to get a lawyer? Can’t I just do this myself?”

My response is always, “Yes of course you can try it on your own. Just be prepared to maybe make things worse than they are already…”

What do I mean?

Well think of it this way:  I know myself, I don’t do my own plumbing, I don’t do my own electrical work. That’s because when I’ve tried it in the past, it’s never worked out for me. Sometimes I made the situation worse. The same thing is true here. You don’t want to make things worse, you want to make things better for you and your family. If you’re seriously injured, you don’t want to jeopardize the award you may be eligible for. And of course, the Team here at Stanley Law is ALWAYS striving to get you the MAXIMUM AWARD.
